Carpentry
Hi, my name is Tyler Kellogg! I grew up in Dutchess County, New York, the son of two teachers. I attended the University of Virginia, where I played Division 1 lacrosse. After three years of college, I found myself drawn to a different kind of work; I wanted to work with my hands. I left school and spent two years working on estates in Charlottesville, Virginia. I enjoyed managing the vineyards, but I found my true passion when I built and designed my first barn.
I moved back to New York state, starting my building career constructing pole barns. I was drawn to the detail-oriented work on these barns, and I slowly transitioned to more meticulous finish carpentry. For the next five years, I worked in various settings; I built houses from the ground up, designed and installed custom pieces, and remodeled kitchens and bathrooms.
I founded Boxwood Carpentry to bring high-quality, thoughtful craftsmanship to the New Haven area—offering everything from custom built-ins and trim work to full-scale renovations. I’m excited to be a part of this community and look forward to taking on new projects here.
